It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Southern Alamance Patriots had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past Jacksonville with a 25-19 win. The win was nothing new for Southern Alamance as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Logan Foust was his usual excellent self, rushing for 283 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Foust was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Southern Alamance also got a significant boost from Jackson Parrish, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.
Southern Alamance has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Cedar Ridge and 1-9 Graham (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.8% over those games). As for Jacksonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Southern Alamance will stay at home for another week and welcome Terry Sanford at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Terry Sanford's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games. Jacksonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
