The Wendover Wildcats can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They really took it to Tintic for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-32 victory at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Wendover considering their 25-point performance the contest before.
Leading Wendover to victory were Natalie Alvarez and Millie Hicks. Alvarez scored 22 points along with three steals, while Hicks dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Alvarez scored 15 or more points. Lizbeth Landeros was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Several Miners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Conder, who scored seven points.
Wendover's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Tintic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Altamont the next time they take the court. Tintic will host Altamont at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Wendover will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
