After flying high against the Ligonier Valley Rams last Friday, The Derry Trojans came back down to earth. Derry took a 25-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of McGuffey on Friday. Derry was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as McGuffey apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2017.
When it comes to explaining why Derry lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ahmad Ward. Despite the final result, he gained 182 total yards.
The critical scores for McGuffey came from Lincoln Johnson, Dylan Droboj, and Ryan Keith.
Derry now has a losing record at 5-6. As for McGuffey, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Derry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McGuffey will face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
