After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lakota West, Fairmont was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ross Rams by a score of 12-7. With that victory, the Firebirds brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Dillon Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Johnson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.
In other batting news, Fairmont got a massive performance out of Joey Lanning, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Logan Doty was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Fairmont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
