Flint Metro recap Oct. 3, 2012
James Richards of Swartz Creek ran for the longest rushing play in Flint Metro this season against Brandon last week. Richards' team beat the Blackhawks as he sprinted for 74 yards on the play and finished with 160 in all.
Swartz Creek extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Brandon, 35-17. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Trent Grimes was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 167 yards on eight carries as Fenton defeated Lapeer East.
Jaylen Schoenfield threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns. He was 14-20 with one interceptions.
Thomas was the best wideout in Flint Metro this week as the Tigers beat the Eagles. Thomas racked up four receptions for 114 yards. Grimes helped Fenton's passing attack out by catching six balls for 49 yards.
Swartz Creek's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Schoenfield has thrown for 1690 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Max Cummings has 37 catches for 850 yards. Richards leads the league in rushing with 464 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Dragons take on Lapeer East. Swartz Creek is currently in first, while Jake Weingartz's team is in fifth.
Linden took down Flint Southwestern Academy 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Shaye Brown threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns and ran for seven yards in the win.
