Macks Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They fell just short of the Stoutland Tigers by a score of  8-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Macks Creek of the  14-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April of 2021.
  Dakota Willis was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up  three earned  (and four unearned) runs off   five  hits. Willis was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
 Willis wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Joshua Botta, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.  Nicholas Hicks was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Macks Creek was hitting in the alleys and  finished the game with three  doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stoutland only hit  no.
 Like Macks Creek, Stoutland also got a great game from a two-way player:  William Morrow. Throwing,  Morrow   struck out seven batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile,  Brodie Millsap   struck out nine batters over  4.2 innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits. At the plate,  Morrow  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3, while  Millsap  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Devin Barnwell was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Macks Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Stoutland, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Macks Creek will  challenge Osage at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Stoutland, they are on the road again  on Thursday to play Conway at 5:00  p.m.
