Evergreen extended their losing streak  to nine  on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-10 in the process. They came up short against  the Swanton Bulldogs, falling  12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  11-4  back in April.
As for Swanton, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.7 runs over those games.
For Swanton's part,  Beyla Remer was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and only one walk). Remer has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted  over her last 13  games.
 In other batting news,  Lacey Shinaver was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.  Jordyn Ramirez was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  double.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evergreen will take on Ottawa Hills at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Swanton, they will square off against Elmwood at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday.
