Banff scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Shady Acres Christian Mavericks 77-71. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-36 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Banff saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jayden Oriedetu dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds. That was a full 33.8% of Banff's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Issac Sumpter was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 19 boards and six assists.

Even though they lost, Banff was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Banff dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Shady Acres Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-4.

Banff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-61 loss against Central Christian Academy on the 31st. Shady Acres Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
