After flying high against the Sweetwater Mustangs on Tuesday, the Greenwood Rangers came back down to earth. Greenwood was outmatched by Randall on the road and fell 106-67. While losing is never fun, Greenwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while Randall is ranked 14th).
When it comes to explaining why Greenwood lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Tatum Pierce. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points. Pierce scored a full 43.3% of Greenwood's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Presley, who scored 12 points.
Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Randall, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Greenwood is on the road again on Friday and play against Burkburnett at 12:00 p.m. on December 8th. Burkburnett has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 539 points over their last seven matches. As for Randall, they will be playing at home against Palo Duro at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
