Alyse Langs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Climax-Scotts got a massive performance out of Addi Dzwik, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Dzwik has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Dzwik, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Climax-Scotts was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .343 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Climax-Scotts has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Hackett Catholic Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hackett Catholic Prep hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. However, it's not like Climax-Scotts struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
