The Falkner Eagles will head out to take on the Middleton Tigers at 7:35 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Falkner got the win against Thrasher by a conclusive 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Gavin Wooley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Falkner let John Lumpkin and Jackson Jordan run wild. Lumpkin scored four runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Jordan went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Jordan a new career-high. Chris Nunley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Middleton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Jumpertown on Thursday as Middleton made off with a 15-1 victory.
Kamren Bumpus made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Bumpus was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, William Cornelius was incredible, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Brody Cornelius was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Middleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jumpertown only posted an OBP of .200.
Falkner is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. The win got Middleton back to even at 1-1.
Everything went Falkner's way against Middleton in their previous meeting on Monday, as Falkner made off with a 16-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Falkner since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
