The Archbishop Wood Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the East Pennsboro Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Archbishop Wood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Archbishop Wood was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Roman Catholic on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Cahillite. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Mason Burlingame looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Caden Vacca was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sebastian McNab, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Archbishop Wood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roman Catholic only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, East Pennsboro put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Boiling Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted against the Bubblers since April 25, 2016.
East Pennsboro's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Eric Foster Jr., who went 1-for-2 with one double.
East Pennsboro pushed their record up to 22-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Wood, their record is now 15-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Archbishop Wood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like East Pennsboro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
