The Carrboro Jaguars stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They really took it to J.F. Webb for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-24 victory on the road. Given Carrboro's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while J.F. Webb is ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carrboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Summer Lee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Lee is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Julia Spang, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Carrboro has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for J.F. Webb, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carrboro will take on Louisburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Louisburg is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for J.F. Webb, they will be playing at home against Granville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Granville Central comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
