Baseball Recap: Christian Academy of Knoxville's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Christian Academy of Knoxville entered their tilt with Loudon on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Redskins a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Academy of Knoxville got a great performance from Parker Jones as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. What's more, Jones gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had over his last five contests.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Bennett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since March 4th. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Sulish, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Christian Academy of Knoxville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loudon struck out nine times.

Christian Academy of Knoxville pushed their record up to 14-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Loudon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Christian Academy of Knoxville will challenge Howland at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Loudon has already played their next matchup (against Powell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
