Melrose is a perfect 10-0 against Watertown since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Red Raiders will challenge the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Watertown took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Melrose, who comes in off a win.
Melrose proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past Masconomet Regional 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Red Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Melrose took Masconomet Regional into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 16-25, 22-25, 15-13.

Melrose relied on the efforts of Sadie Smith, who had 32 assists and eight digs, and Sabine Wenzel, who had 21 kills. That's the most assists Smith has posted since September 3rd. Another player making a difference was Elise Marchais, who had six digs.
Meanwhile, Watertown came up short against Wakefield Memorial on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-10, 25-10.
Watertown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Melrose, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
Everything went Melrose's way against Watertown when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Melrose made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Red Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
