The Elba Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Pike County Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Elba has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Elba lost 17-7 to Ashford on Monday.
Powell Bane made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Jaden Baker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pike County came up short against Highland Home on Monday, falling 24-4. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Flying Squadron recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Ben Patterson and Noah Terry stepped up to the plate in a big way. Patterson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Terry went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Patterson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaikeilin Adams, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.
Elba's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Pike County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.
Everything went Elba's way against Pike County in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Elba made off with a 28-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
