Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Whitefield Academy Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They secured a 62-56 W over Columbus HomeSchool. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Whitefield Academy was the victim of a rough 67-42 loss at the hands of Holy Cross last Friday. While losing is never fun, Whitefield Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Holy Cross is ranked 31st).
Valley pushed their record up to 3-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Whitefield Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Valley took their victory against Whitefield Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2015 by a conclusive 64-44. Does Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Whitefield Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
