The Cottondale Hornets had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.1 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They came out on top against Bethlehem by a score of 49-36. For Cottondale, this counts as revenge for the 50-45 loss the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Cottondale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Reagan, who scored 13 points. Trey Nettles was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Despite the defeat, Bethlehem saw an underclassman step up: Kason Paul scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Easton Lentz, who scored eight points.
Cottondale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Bethlehem, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.
Cottondale will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Chipley will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Bethlehem will take on the Atomics at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poplar Springs has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
