The North Stafford Wolverines will head out on the road to face off against the Brooke Point Black Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully North Stafford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, North Stafford didn't have too much trouble with Colonial Forge on the road as they won 42-28.
Destinee Salgado continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. J'Maia Joseph was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Brooke Point's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. Their rough 69-43 defeat to Riverbend might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brooke Point in their matchups with Riverbend: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite their defeat, Brooke Point saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Chloe Williams, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rinyah Jarrett, who scored ten points.
North Stafford's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Brooke Point, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
North Stafford strolled past Brooke Point when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 53-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Stafford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
