Baseball Recap: Fairless Gets the Win

Fairless hadn't done well against Dalton recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered an 8-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Logan Barkan tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Peters, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Hunter Dean was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Fairless is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Dalton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Coincidentally, Fairless and Dalton will both be playing Chippewa the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Chipps at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
