Dothan hasn't had much luck against Auburn recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, Dothan really took it to Smiths Station for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-14 victory. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Panthers are ranked 85th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Aj Alexander continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 223 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Dothan is 4-1 when Alexander posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Marcus Reeves helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards and a rushing touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dothan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 405 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 226 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Auburn against Carver Montgomery on Friday as the squad secured a 41-7 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Dothan better keep an eye on Cason Myers. He was instrumental in Auburn's win, throwing for 271 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 56 yards. The dominant performance also gave Myers a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Joshua Askew was Myers' top target, picking up 81 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Dothan's record now sits at 5-3. As for Auburn, their record is now 7-2.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Dothan has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 328.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Auburn, though, as they've been averaging only 88.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Dothan was taken down by Auburn 42-7 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
