The Calvary Saints pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 73-65 to Springfield. Calvary has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Connor Brown and Luke Blackford certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Brown scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Blackford scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Kaleb Larson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Calvary's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Springfield, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-18.
Calvary won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Nokomis is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to face off against the Greenwave at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
