The Stayton Eagles took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They claimed a resounding 70-38 victory over Elmira at home. That's another feather in the cap for Stayton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Stayton to victory were Kaden Holm and Ean Dillingham. Holm scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds, while Dillingham scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Joshua Davis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Stayton's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Elmira, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stayton will take on Marist at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elmira, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Estacada at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
