After losing to South Shore Vo-Tech the last time they met, Old Colony RVT decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars walked away with  a   13-9  victory over the Vikings  on Thursday.
 Kayleigh DeSousa was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  5.1 innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.

 In other batting news,  Leah Robitaille was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Patty Spillane, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs and one  RBI.
 Old Colony RVT  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 19  hits. That's a new  trend for them: they were averaging 5.4  hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 14.2.
The  win  got Old Colony RVT back to even at 6-6. As for South Shore Vo-Tech,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-4.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Old Colony RVT is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Upper Cape Cod RVT  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. Meanwhile, South Shore Vo-Tech will  square off against  rival Bristol County Agricultural  at 3:00  p.m.  on Monday.
