Middle Creek has gone a perfect 6-0 against Green Level recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Middle Creek barely beat Apex the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Middle Creek put the hurt on Apex with a sharp 14-4 victory on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mustangs have posted against the Cougars since April 5, 2019.
Hailey Hoeft was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Kennedy Johnson was a standout: she scored four runs while going 2-for-4. Madelyn Herndon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Middle Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apex only posted an OBP of .269.
Meanwhile, Green Level didn't have quite enough to beat Green Hope on Tuesday and fell 9-8. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Green Level saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sloane Kessler, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Stella Pepin was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
The victory made it two in a row for Middle Creek and bumps their season record up to 3-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Green Level, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Middle Creek took their victory against Green Level in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0. Does Middle Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Green Level turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
