The Georgetown G-Men's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eastern. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Georgetown of the 51-42 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Preston scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Mckibben, who scored nine points.
Georgetown's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Eastern, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-13.
Georgetown will take on Seven Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastern, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Batavia at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Batavia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastern in Ohio (Batavia is ranked 174th, while Eastern is ranked 545th).
