The Fisher Bunnies are taking a road trip to take on the Milford Bearcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Fisher turned things around against St. Thomas More on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Sabers by a score of 5-1.
Weston Ensign made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Fisher's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-18 when he doesn't). Ensign was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Milford's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to St. Joseph-Ogden on Friday. The Bearcats skirted past Armstrong 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bearcats have posted since April 17th.
Like Fisher, Milford also got a great game from a two-way player: Beau Wright. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Wright has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Aiden Frerichs was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Milford's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-14. As for Fisher, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-19.
Fisher suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Milford in their previous meeting back in May of 2018. Can the Bunnies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
