The Murray Spartans entered their tilt with the Park City Miners with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Murray walked away with a 73-63 win over Park City on Tuesday. Given Murray's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Park City is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Murray's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinton Christman led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five assists and three steals. Christman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Treyce Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Murray's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Park City, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Murray will square off against Hillcrest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Park City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th.
