 Phoebe Dudgeon was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave  her a new career-low in  walks (one). She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Malayah Barnes and  Kaylee Cook did some serious damage despite the final result:  Barnes  scored a  run while going 1-for-3, while  Cook  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Kalyssa Short, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
Mount View's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
 Looking ahead, Mount View will take on Van at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Mount View is facing Van at the right time seeing as Van is stuck on  a  five-game losing streak. As for Hurley, they will square off against Northwood at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
