Basketball Recap: Peachtree Academy Takes a Loss

Peachtree Academy lost against Alleluia Community last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Peachtree Academy Panthers received a blow as they fell 89-72 to the Alleluia Community Angels.

Despite the defeat, Peachtree Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Jackson went 10 of 25 on his way to 24 points. Jackson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Liam Abraham was another key player, putting up ten points and four blocks.

Peachtree Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Alleluia Community, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-10.

Peachtree Academy and Scholars Guild Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Alleluia Community, they and Briarwood Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
