The Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats will take on the Monticello Magic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Chisago Lakes Area let Becker stack six runs on them in the third inning on Monday but luckily Chisago Lakes Area prevailed anyway. The Wildcats skirted past the Bulldogs 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Bulldogs since April 29, 2021.

Lucas Weinzetl and Brayden Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Weinzetl went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Anderson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double. Those two RBI gave Weinzetl a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xander Breitenbach, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Monticello made easy work of Zimmerman on Monday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The Magic haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Koen Schlangen looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Easton Peters was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brock Holthaus, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Monticello was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zimmerman only posted a batting average of .263.
Monticello's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Chisago Lakes Area, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Chisago Lakes Area suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Monticello in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
