The Morgan Academy Senators suffered their biggest loss since November 17, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Fort Dale Academy 69-42. Morgan Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fort Dale Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Despite the defeat, Morgan Academy saw an underclassman step up: CJ Christopher Williams scored 17 points along with six assists and three steals. Williams is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Barron Frazer, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Morgan Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Fort Dale Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Morgan Academy will take on Clarke Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Clarke Prep is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Fort Dale Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bessemer Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bessemer Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 games -- so hopefully Fort Dale Academy likes a good challenge.
