Woodlawn-B.R. had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 61-42 win over the Edna Karr Cougars on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on 17 straight.
Despite the defeat, Edna Karr saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cass Antoine posted 25 points. Antoine's morning made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Travion Stewart, who scored eight points.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s win bumped their record up to 29-6. As for Edna Karr, they moved to 29-5 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Woodlawn-B.R. will take on Huntington on Saturday. Woodlawn-B.R. knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Huntington likes a good challenge. Edna Karr does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
