Carlisle hasn't had much luck against Palmyra recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Thundering Herd will look to defend their home field against the Cougars at 4:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Carlisle headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Red Lion let them put that streak behind them. The Thundering Herd blew past the Lions 11-2 on Saturday. The Thundering Herd not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 2, 2025 (when they won 13-3).

Curtis Stroud was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colby Focht, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Palmyra ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top against Warwick by a score of 7-2. The Cougars' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Mathew Eldridge looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julian Meley, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Bown, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Carlisle's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Palmyra, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
Carlisle couldn't quite finish off Palmyra when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 5-3. Can the Thundering Herd avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
