Tom Bean is 0-3 against Alvord since September of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tom Bean Tomcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Alvord Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Alvord took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Tom Bean, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Tom Bean strolled past Whitewright with points to spare, taking the game 27-8. Tom Bean pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Whitewright cut but never quite recovered from.
Tom Bean can attribute much of their success to Bobby Rogers, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns. Garrett Kelly also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-12, which was the final score in Alvord's tilt against Tioga on Friday. It was the first time this season that Alvord let down their fans at home.
Tom Bean now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Alvord, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
