The Hunters Lane Warriors will head out to face off against the Kenwood Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hunters Lane is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Hunters Lane took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Wednesday. They came out on top against Pearl-Cohn by a score of 8-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Jose Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has become a key player for Hunters Lane: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Garcia was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Chris Kendall and Daishoun Cotton did most of the damage at the plate: Kendall scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Cotton went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Cotton's first of the season. Cameron Reese was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Hunters Lane always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Kenwood not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024. They put the hurt on Whites Creek with a sharp 8-2 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Zachery Turner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Turner was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
Hunters Lane's record now sits at 3-6. As for Kenwood, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-9.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Hunters Lane has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .498. However, it's not like Kenwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .439. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
