The Xavier Prep Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Palm Springs at home and fell 72-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Xavier Prep has scored all season.
Xavier Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tre Rochin, who scored eight points. Noah Rapkin was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Xavier Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season. As for Palm Springs, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 25-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Xavier Prep will face off against the Blackhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Quinta is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Saints a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Palm Springs, they will head out on the road to take on the Aztecs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Palm Desert has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 286 points over their last four contests.
