Softball Recap: Jersey's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Jersey brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Marquette Catholic Explorers on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Anna Kribs and Chloe Beemer did most of the damage at the plate: Kribs went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Beemer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI Beemer has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Holly Brainerd, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Jersey hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marquette Catholic struck out six times.

Jersey's record is now 6-11-1. As for Marquette Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jersey will welcome Collinsville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers are on a three-game streak of home losses, and the Kahoks a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Marquette Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cahokia at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
