The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Pinecrest Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Fellowship Christian is ranked 463rd).
When it comes to explaining why Pinecrest Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joe Frain. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Frain scored a full 47.9% of Pinecrest Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Birozes, who scored nine points.
Pinecrest Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Fellowship Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
