The Monrovia Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Martinsville. Monrovia just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allie Tallent, who scored 14 points. Trinity Inglert was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Monrovia's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6. As for Martinsville, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monrovia will face off against Indiana School for the Deaf at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Indiana School for the Deaf focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. Martinsville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bloomfield at 9:30 a.m. on December 28th. Bloomfield is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home.
