The Millbury Woolies will head out on the road to face off against the Grafton Gators at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Grafton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Millbury, who comes in off a win.
After only seven points in their last matchup, Millbury made sure to put some points up on the board against Sutton two weeks ago. Millbury claimed a resounding 44-14 victory over Sutton at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Millbury just coasted through the last quarter.
Among those leading the charge was Sergio Hernandez, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Anthony Phillipo did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, it's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Grafton can now relate to. They took a 20-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scituate on Friday. Grafton's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Grafton got a solid performance out of Finn Gilmore, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown. Gilmore hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games.
Millbury's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Everything went Millbury's way against Grafton in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Millbury made off with a 37-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millbury since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
