Lake Stevens took down Stanwood 48-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gavin Oneil threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 85 yards in the win.
Monroe made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,506 from 2,904. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 29-22 victory over Arlington last week.
Mount Vernon's dynamic duo of Bennett Gibson and Melvin Walser proved tough for Snohomish to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gibson threw for 244 yards and one touchdown and Walser had 144 yards receiving. Micah Scott helped Mount Vernon's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 61 yards.
Austin Otis was the most productive running back in 4A Wesco - North this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 87 yards as the Vikings fell to the Panthers.
Thanks to the talents of Gibson and Scott Mount Vernon has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Gibson leads the league in passing with 1819 yards, while Scott has rushed for 553 yards this season. Lake Stevens' Conner Coleman leads the league in receiving yards with 868 on 36 catches.
Going into this week's game against the Bearcats, Jay Silver's team's Gibson needs 181 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Snohomish takes on Tom Tri's team. At the moment, Mark Perry's team is in fourth, while the Vikings are in first.
