The Clearfield Bison are taking a road trip to take on the Somerset Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
On Friday, a win is a win, as they say, even a pretty close 12-6 victory over Bald Eagle Area. Those 12 points were actually the fewest the Bison have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Clearfield proved: they limited Bald Eagle Area to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Colton Ryan for the heroic effort on defense: he. Clearfield didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.4.
Meanwhile, Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bedford. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bisons 6-0 in the first quarter.
Clearfield will have to contain Drew Miller as he made an impact in Somerset's last game. He rushed for 87 yards and one score.
Somerset didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maverick Swank and Carter Dunmyer.
Clearfield pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games. As for Somerset, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Clearfield has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 202.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Somerset, though, as they've been averaging only 51 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
