Softball Recap: Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy Victorious

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens 22-21. This was a revenge game for the Phoenix: when they faced off against the Ravens back in April, they had to take a 10-7 loss.

Eimy Rodriguez was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sumalee Chanbunna, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI.

Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.2 runs over those games. As for Academy of Science and Innovation, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy will face off against Bulkeley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
