The Biggs Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Durham Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Biggs is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 16 games.
Two weeks ago, Biggs got the win against Williams by a conclusive 22-3. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
Arden Vines and Gracie Sheppard made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Vines pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sheppard pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Vines went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Sheppard got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Sheppard has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lyllian Baxter, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Shay Jackson was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Biggs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .812. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Durham ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Paradise. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Sadie Sjolund and Annalee Horn made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Sjolund struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Horn pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. At the plate, Sjolund went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run, while Horn went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Clare Osbon, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Biggs' record is now 16-1. As for Durham, their record now sits at 8-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Biggs has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Durham struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Biggs skirted past Durham 3-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
