C East recap September 24, 2013
Dominick Erickson and Noah Kershner provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Madison/Carrabec. The connection went for 53 yards, the longest such play in C East this season.
Waterville extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Old Town, 54-8. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Panthers.
Nokomis's dynamic duo of Erickson and Kershner proved to be unstoppable against the Bulldogs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Erickson threw for 160 yards and Kershner had 53 yards receiving. Jake Winslow helped Nokomis' passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 53 yards.
The Warriors' dynamic duo of Erickson and Kershner proved tough for Madison/Carrabec to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Erickson put up the best numbers in passing as Nokomis bested Scott Franzose's team.
Kershner was the best receiver in the league this week as Matt Oconnell's team defeated the Bulldogs.
Braden Upshaw was the best running back in C East this week. He ran for 70 yards on 14 carries as the Coyotes beat Madison/Carrabec. Teammate Cody Whitmore added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Nokomis takes on Winslow. At the moment, the Warriors are in sixth, while the Black Raiders are in first.
Waterville was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Old Town. Frank Knight's team came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
