Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for John Hay

John Hay extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jordyn Webb. John Hay secured a 51-47 W over the Brookside Cardinals on Saturday thanks in part to Webb, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Webb is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Carly Fisher, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Brookside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Markie Aliff, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Diaz, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

John Hay's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Brookside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

John Hay will venture away from home to challenge John Adams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. John Hay's defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so John Adams' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Brookside, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Brookside Cardinals challenge the Keystone Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keystone will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Brookside surely won't give up without a fight.
