Softball Recap: Tiverton's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Tiverton won against Durfee last Friday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Tiverton beat Durfee by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-5 last Friday.

Lia Doster was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Doster was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Tiverton got a massive performance out of Emma O'Shea, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Sadie Pickering, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Tiverton has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 15.0 runs this season. As for Durfee, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tiverton will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Rogers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be Tiverton's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Durfee, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Apponequet Regional at 4:15 p.m.
