The Kalama Chinooks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 72-52 loss at the hands of Toutle Lake. While losing is never fun, Kalama can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while Toutle Lake is ranked 55th).
Despite the defeat, Kalama saw an underclassman step up: Abel Koski scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Koski hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Sigfridson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Kalama's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Toutle Lake, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kalama will take on Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Toutle Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Adna at 7:00 p.m.
