Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Piles Up the Points Against Grace and Glory Christian

While Wiregrass didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat the Grace and Glory Christian Eagles 73-39. The Kings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 34 points or more this season.

Leading Wiregrass to victory were Trent Wilks and Jonathan Treadaway. Wilks posted ten points in addition to four steals and three blocks, while Treadaway scored ten points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Those four steals gave Wilks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Graysen Ellison, who earned four points and four steals.

Wiregrass smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Aaron Kneiss and Brayden Walker certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Kneiss put up 18 points, while Walker had 11 points. Kneiss' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points.

Wiregrass' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.2 points. As for Grace and Glory Christian, their record is now 1-3.

Wiregrass wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-39 defeat against North Florida Christian on the 2nd. As for Grace and Glory Christian, they have also already played their next matchup, an 81-44 win against Varsity Opponent on the 4th.
